Dr. Emmanuel Ngcobo, President of CIGFARO - a 96-year-old professional body - highlights its longstanding advocacy for professionalism among public finance practitioners, including accountants, auditors, risk, and performance experts, while candidly addressing persistent gaps.

Through revised programs aligned to a broader professional agenda, CIGFARO leverages strong partnerships with key entities like National Treasury, CoGTA, the National School of Government, and the Auditor General to coordinate efforts, reduce duplication, and accelerate improvements.

Ngcobo announces an intentional global pivot, including the October launch of a Global Federation for Public Finances, to import and localise international best practices, elevating South African and African public finance to world-class standards.
