Fostering Local Entrepreneurship through the Sanlam Trading Hub

Ray-ann Sedres, Head of Sanlam Foundation, highlighted Sanlam's integrated approach to corporate social responsibility, emphasising the creation of a Trading Hub at their Bellville head office, repurposing a vacant former post office space.

In collaboration with the UWC Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the hub supports local traders from Bellville and surrounding areas, hosting three to five businesses to sell their goods and promote their enterprises. Sanlam encourages its staff to support these businesses, fostering community engagement.

The initiative reflects Sanlam's long-term commitment to impactful, sustainable projects, with plans to expand the hub and strengthen ties with UWC to further support local entrepreneurship and innovation along the Strand Street corridor.
