With Gareth Morgan: City of Cape Town
Cape Town faces various climatic stresses and shocks, including prolonged droughts like the "Day Zero" crisis from 2016-2018, a projected decrease in annual rainfall, increased fire incidents (both urban and wildfire), more frequent flooding despite less overall rain, rising storm surges, and a growing number of high heat days.
These challenges are being integrated into the city's planning and project execution to address the wide range of climate-related issues holistically.
