Achievements and Goals of the Better Bellville Together Campaign

Ald James Vos is Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth in the City of Cape Town.

Summary

Ald James Vos discusses the initiatives taken under the Better Bellville Together campaign since its launch in February 2023.

In less than 6 months since launch the campaign has resulted in the recycling and removal of over 160 kg of recyclable waste, collection and composting of over 330 kg of food scraps, removal of almost 950g of posters and graffiti, and repair and painting of nearly 50 public benches.

These efforts not only beautify the area but also create jobs and reduce the impact of waste on landfills.

The campaign, administered by the Greater Tygerberg Partnership and overseen by the Economic Growth department, aims to make the area investment-ready by focusing on business retention and attraction.

To achieve a business-ready investment in Bellville, the campaign is working on making the area clean, safe, and attractive, which will lead to business longevity and job opportunities.

The ultimate goal is to increase property values, confidence, and overall appearance, making Bellville play its part in the bigger city vision.

Presented by the Greater Tygerberg Partnership.
