About Celiwe Mabaso
Celiwe Mabaso is a seasoned communications and sustainability professional with a specialisation in community development and impact investment. Currently working as the Senior social performance manager for BTE Renewables, she is responsible for leading the Social Performance team in the design and implementation of BTE's social impact programs and ensuring align to the organisations overall Sustainability ESG objectives, prior to her role at BTE she's held similar roles at EIMS Africa and General Electric (GE). Celiwe is passionate about the develop of youth in rural and underdeveloped areas and is an advocate for active citizenship. In 2021 Celiwe was acknowledged for her contributions to community development in the Mail; Guardian as part of the 2021 200 Youth South Africans.

Africa has the youngest population in the world. By 2030, young Africans are expected to make up 42 percent of the world's youth and account for 75 percent of the those under age 35 in Africa.
